there is no need for a 400 in a s10 you can take a 305 and do anything that 400 will do in one cause it dont matter how much horsepower you have if you cant go anywhere...... I had a blazer with a lt-1 in it my best time in a 1/4 was 9.90 and i had a s10 with a 305 that done low 9s high 8s

it was painted when I got it. I got it real cheap cause they couldn't get it running lol .....it was just a timing issue

:scratch:

A 400 is a small block dude; the one I posted is a 454 if I remember right. I get the point your trying to make but the cash spent getting a 305 in to the 8s/9s could be better spent on getting a larger displacement engine into the same time zone with cash left over. Dimensionally most all SBCs are going to be about the same, regardless of displacement; so why not install something with larger displacement and have more power potential.

if thats what you want to do i spent the money on trans. and rear-end for traction i like the low end torque out of the 305s my cousin has a chevy 307 not a Oldsmobile 307 i thought about maybe putting it in my tacoma some day

mmhmmhh got me a present yesterday!...a 355. 1500 miles on it.
the guy said it has a really nice cam to it
and theres a story behind it. i got it from a guy that rebuilt it for his chevelle. he got it from bobby hamilton. it came out of bobby hamiltons 56 bel air and the guy before me got it from his auctuion when he died. :tup:
